I like India as much as the next person, but I suspect its relevance to brexit is negligible.

Very good interview of Tony Blair on Andrew Neil yesterday. He is firmly of the view that a referendum is needed. He explains things so well, even under the force of Neil's excellent challenges. Solid discussion, no BS from either side.
You think we'll get until June? Seems like a long time. Last time we got less than that.

We have to have a vote for an election. Do we need a vote of no confidence to pass, or can it just be by super majority? I've lost track. I'm assuming the latter, esp since nobody can agree on a caretaker PM. Either way, that's a GE before Christmas.

You introduced into the discussion a Commonwealth country. Post 15290------Should we not reply?

See my above post ----regarding the mention of the country.
It's relevance to Post Brexit UK is certainly not negligible.

(You "like it"? How much time have you spent there?----genuine interest?)

It's all running down the clock and that's all Boris really wants to do. They should have agreed to a GE and treated that as their opportunity to change the course.
Yes, agree, apart from GE already. Try and catch Blair on Andrew Neil re. referendum v GE.

I heard that a longer extension is being mooted in Brussels. The idea being that it would permit a referendum were one to be called. I think BoJo were to get back in on the basis of No Deal, regardless of extension date, UK would exit fairly quickly.

So Lab won't agree to a GE until a "no deal" exit is assured against. But after that, they and everyone else will need one. The Tories can't govern since they don't have a majority, and they are ahead in the polls so why would they wait until they have screwed this up further and risk their potential win?

Zero time there sadly. You shouldn't take my post too literally. But I would go in a flash if I could - sadly my Indian cousins (the ones that upset some people so much a number of posts ago) moved to North Carolina so no help at all there

Yes I suppose that makes sense. And a new ref is part of the Labour platform in an election.

Wouldn't half be funny though - extension until mid 2020 or longer. Imagine!

The howls

Bet Tusk would come up with something witty to say.
