That's because we are yesterday.

Which is a pretty neat trick, come to think of it.

Their second paragraph has a glaring error.
There is some evidence that the net effect of immigration is to increase earnings a little for the better-paid, and reduce them slightly for the better paid.
What they mean is that it reduces earnings for the lower-paid. Which is what I have been saying.

British employers who prefer EU workers because they are better motivated and harder working than the local Brit workforce doing the same jobs.
Do you seriously believe that higher wages will change the British mindset.
Many employers do not.
I am sure that should it be necessary they will happily pay more to recruit EU Labour after Brexit.

Yes, I did notice that and assumed they meant your translation

The paragraph I do not understand at all :

Lower migration would very likely lead to lower growth in total employment, and lower output growth. It would not necessarily mean lower growth in output per head which is more closely connected to living standards. There is little evidence that, over long periods of time, countries that have had higher rates of labour force growth have had higher rates of growth of output per head. However, there is no doubt that some types of migration can raise productivity and output growth may be desirable if the extra output improves the government finances: our final report will discuss the fiscal impacts of EEA migration.

Can anybody put this in plain English ? Thanks (I do like to understand what I read).

Give credit where credit is due. At least he bothered to read it before rubbishing it on some minor point. It's an improvement over reading only the headline before rubbishing it.

But then, I reckon with the way Brexit has ended up, rubbishing some actual point that was actually written has become a necessity for them. Can't just indiscriminately rubbish everything anymore.

That reminds me. Where's our resident misspelt cartoon character?

That migrants are more compliant and desperate I am not surprised. That you continually side with big business over your working compatriots I am.

As I have explained before, importing migrants to work low-paid jobs that attract in-work bennies is not an economically sound practice for the UK, even if it helps your friends in the elite get richer.

Higher wages through reducing the reserve pool of labour will incentivise workers from the unemployed, under employed and not economically active to take work, or it will incentivise automation and increased productivity for the UK.

And when you say "some minor point" you mean their main page being 180 degrees out when discussing the topic in question?
