Why do you deny facts?

Even in parliament you have one set of Brexiters who will accept nothing less than full leave (no deal) and others that contemplate Norway/Canada solutions.

There are many that would be happy with simply an end of FOM but maintaining all other economic and legal frameworks, is that full out?

You didn't get your one chance to register your choice.

I feel a burning sense of injustice on your behalf and I demand another referendum to set the matter straight.

By the way, who said it was a once in a lifetime choice?

Portillo made a good point about the EU offering an extension, he thought it would be long, 2 years, which over time would further diminish the validity (relevance) of the first referendum and build the case for a second referendum.

It might at least lead us to a general election , and allow for this shabby lot to be removed, and for the people to be able to vote in those with some common sense .Or is that a vain hope ?

Wouldn't solve all the problems but it would get us back to remain which would be satisfactory to 80% of the population. I think there's only about a hardcore of 20% EU haters out there.

Removed by who? The current Labour Party are an embarrassment and none of the other parties are significant enough to affect anything.

Now you're back to your reliance on opinion and anecdotal evidence. What happened to those "facts" you're so keen on?

Yes this is an opinion, it's allowed. The difference is that I'm not disputing a fact.

You've been disputing the cold hard fact that 52% of voters want to dump the EU for the best part of 3 years, Shard.

Given that the divides are across party lines, what matters is working with what can command a majority in Parliament rather than which party the individual MP belongs to. Parliament isn't there simply to rubber-stamp whatever the government comes up with. Currently, nothing commands a majority and if the stalemate continues, something has to be done to break it. An election could resolve that.

It's difficult at the moment to see the whole matter being resolved without some form of further public consultation. The government doesn't appear to have clear public support for its current proposals.
