I said something about this before, and it upset someone - don't remember who. But nevertheless it's a step in the right direction and should be encouraged. There's a lot wrong with China, but I don't think isolation has ever done anything to improve a country's human rights record, nor anything else very much.

Give people a chance to be your friend, or they will definitely be your enemy.

I'd bet quite a bit on the fact that, when we do finally get a cure, China will have a big, big part to play in either manufacturing it or at least, sourcing a lot of the ingredients and/or gear needed for its production!

You really, really need to stop talking in riddles and short statements. It often makes no sense whatsoever.

Don't worry. I have completely missed the point of it all and can't be bothered to try and work it out.

Could not agree with you more. No one knows where or when a virus will emerge. Or what's the best way to deal with it from the get go. Although listening to actual experts in the field might have helped .. but we all know we don't do that anymore
.America has had several floating about for years .(Tularaemia being one ) Its undoubtedly true that the basic habits of a nation ie eating the wrong things ,hygiene ,medical resources play a large roll in whether a virus can grow into a pandemic .The Spanish were blamed for the Flu which killed so many during WW1.. Whereas in fact it originated in the USA amongst soldiers who then took it to the trenches in Europe . The men died of pneumonia after catching the flu virus . They died because they were malnourished , exhausted , and mostly standing in waterlogged trenches being shot at. We can't let xenophobic feelings about other countries lead us to closing ourselves off from the world ..

This seems completely at odds with your post in the other thread. The one that drew the lizards response.

I couldn't care less. They have the power to change their country, we don't.

Tonight yet another previously free and fair country became a totalitarian police state and every innocent man, woman and child was essentially placed under house arrest, justified by the reckless actions of the Chinese. If and when this is all over something needs to change in the world's relationship with China because this cannot be tolerated.

China sending personnel to Italy at this time is like the local crack dealer turning up for a neighbourhood watch meeting. If China had any decency then they would be offering to pick up the bill for what this has cost every single other country in the world. Of course they won't though because that country doesn't have a single iota of decency in it.

Get over what? Everything I've said is entirely accurate. China is a scumbag state and every single one of us is now paying for the consequences for their actions. Over the course of a few weeks I have watched the country in which I was born transform into Airstrip One and both China and our government's and businesses close relationship with China is the cause.

I won't deny, I'm absolutely furious. We now live in what is essentially an open prison and not a single British person did anything to deserve it. Not only that but the country has also become a place where anybody who doesn't work for the NHS is basically considered to be a second class citizen. Quite frankly I'm disgusted by both China and the spineless actions of the UK government.

It's nothing new and I doubt it's actual rage.

It's almost exactly the same tone he's adopted since he started dropping by on other threads. Extreme hyperbole is his neutral gear.

Some need to step away from the keyboard and breathe. Some need to stop trying to wind a certain poster up.

Thread temporarily closed.
