Shocking, but notable only because there were five deaths at the same time. This was only about one quarter (in fact slightly less) of the firearm homicides on an average day.

My first assumption is a Drugs deal gone bad.

Anybody else care to pontificate.

No mention of Assault Weapons or large capacity magazines I see.

That was my first assumption too, and sounds like, from the initial reports, that all the armed individuals killed each other. And I also agree, it doesn't sound like any of the weapons used would be impacted (significantly) by any of the proposed legislation.

Sorry, I meant the weapons per se, independent of who owns them or how they were obtained.

There was mention of a (potential innocent?) casualty in a separate unit.

I wonder if that gives pause for thought for all those holding handguns, AR-15's etc for "home self defence" that they'd better be darn sure before they pull the trigger that their kids aren't sleeping in bed on the other side of that matchstick and newspaper "wall" behind the intruder..........

It is now being said it was a domestic, which then went on to remove witnesses.

Shotgun

He has passed a check for his concealed carry permit.

So how would the proposed legislation impact this?

You missed this bit:

However, he had been involved in two prior domestic violence calls in Federal Way and Seattle, Wilson said.
Doesn't say whether those calls involved the murdered girlfriend, but it does highlight how sadly deadly the combination of guns and people with likely anger management issues can be.

I hate it when the police just brush it off as an accident, unfortunate or one of those things.

5 year old shoots 2 year old sibling with his own gun.

"It's just tragic. It's something that you can't prepare for."

Er, yes you can. You don't buy real guns for five year olds.

I would assume that it was self-defense.

""It was God's will. It was her time to go, I guess," she told WLEX. "I just know she's in heaven right now and I know she's in good hands with the Lord."

I guess that's called clinging to your guns and religion.

All we need now is for the Westboro Baptist Church to show up at the funeral ...
