Default If there is a God why...

Does he allow children to be murdered in church? Adults too but especially children.

Please don’t give me the ‘suffer the little children to come unto me’ crap.

Although I was brought up to believe in God, Jesus etc...I no longer do. Surely if there was such a being he would not let children suffer or indeed anyone. Perhaps those that do could counter my argument.

No counter from me. I remember going to church a few times when maybe 5 or 6 years old but was never raised in a religious household.

I believe God/religion is a human invention to turn to when people don't/can't understand something. People used to worship the sun or the moon until they knew better and then had to invent something new.

It's God's punishment for taking away women's rights. He tried natural disasters, but that did not work.

What laws in Texas have recently been passed that give women more rights?

That's the answer I would give, too.

Although, then I am put in mind of the trilemma ascribed to Epicurus:

“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”
