Both seem highly improbable in my eyes at the moment, but not impossible.

I do hope you're not Talking Britain Down.

It's strictly forbidden under the new regime, you know.

No because you would have cut out the 'hundreds of members' bit We DON'T NEED lots of braying hangers on who forget who voted them in ,or even where their constituency is.and vote for their party anyway .
We need a massive change in the way we are governed..That has to begin with engaging the public in the business off politics from an early age ie teach it in schools. I don't mean how to be a Tory,or how to be a Labour voter... but how to govern a country with the right people in the right jobs. The civil service actually runs the mechanics of the country. Vote in a good chief executive..A good financial person..A good spokesperson, an astute foreign office person etc...all accountable to an overseeing committee that can hire and fire..All accountable to the public, based on results..Surely its possible to work something out that eliminates todays circus and excludes a dictatorship or the army...

IMO. People should be voting on the manifestos , not what leadership is in place - which could be changed anyway - nor on the UK EU exit .

For the UK EU exit you want someone(s) with a clear vision for helping the UK . Someone that can set aside a personal preference, if they have one, and look to the good of a nation.
You don't want someone looking to make some sort of hay whilst the sun shines nor someone that blows in the wind. Above all you need transparency and honesty for whatever WA is on the table and place that before the nation.

Regardless of this, the election should be about national policies, not the UK EU exit. Anyone seeking to muddy the waters & use a national UK GE in that way should be disregarded.
Bless.... In a perfect world BEVS.,In a perfect world

Quite possibly, given the strong links between Russia and the New Regime.

Either that or packed off in search of The Brexit Dividend. Or Sunlit Uplands.

Not talking about academies, I mentioned grammar and private schools....weirdly I thought they'd be popular with fans of Comrade Corbyn seeing he attended both.

Agreed - it is a bit of a weird line of reasoning.

What's your understanding of the "dastardly thing he wants to do to private and grammar schools"? Or even Labour Party policy on them, come to that?

My understanding is the misunderstanding. They're confused on it aren't they. For years they've fought inwardly about what to do and what not to do. So, they've done the only thing they can do - nothing. Remove some tax privileges (Robin Hood style) and that's it.
To be fair, they'd love to go to town on private schools wouldn't they....we all know it. Unfortunately, many Labour MPs throughout history have been to private schools. I mean, Milne went to Winchester College, how lovely!

If the champagne socialists (or Maoists in Milne's case) could quietly exit stage left........thank you

I don't know who the "they" is that you're referring to there but no, actually - we don't all know it.

Honestly, though, you Tory types do puzzle me sometimes. You're happy for your party to exploit some notion of "the elites" and yet at the first mention of the removing tax advantages from which only the truly wealthy benefit, you go all weak at the knees and start making all sorts of strange insinuations
