Yup. Unfortunately they will stay that size and price…until the next price hike or product reduction…or both. 😱

This is so true, except the banks will do it even if its 1 cent short.

This happened in Canada already several years back, maybe even about 10 years ago now, it's been awhile.

Dollar Tree in the US one of last true dollar stores is well no longer a dollar store, but a buck and quarter store as they raise prices 25% to $1.25. Sign of the times.

It is amazing they were able to go 35 years without going above $1 price point though, but the time has come, something tells me the $1.25 price point wont last 25 years, they will likely end up like Dollarama in Canada where its $1.25 to $5 price points.

Something to keep in mind.

Food prices continue to rise > food banks seeing increased demand > because food prices are going up people are donating less > food banks have more people needing help, but less donations and food to give out.

This is why relying almost entirely on charity to help people doesn't work, in bad times the charities see increased demand, but also see decreased donations.

"Charity" to cover people's basic needs shouldn't be necessary. In wealthy societies like ours the need for charities is a sign of failure and a collective embarrassment.

That is true, the government should at the very least ensure everyone has their very basic needs met, but of course government is lobbied hard not to do so and certain parties that go more right in various countries like to remove social supports, and cut programs in the name of balanced budgets and tax cuts, funny how they always go after the people at the bottom first, but expected as money means power and those without money have no power to do anything.

From 1979 to 2020, net productivity rose 61.8%, while the hourly pay of typical workers grew far slower—increasing only 17.5% over four decades (after adjusting for inflation).

Starting the the late 1970's policymakers began dismantling all the policy bulwarks helping to ensure that typical workers’ wages grew with productivity, excess unemployment was tolerated to keep inflation in check, raises to minimum wage became smaller and rarer, labor laws didn't keep pace with employer hostility toward unions making it more difficult for employees to unionize, tax rates on top incomes were lowered, and anti-worker deregulation of industries such as the airline and trucking industry, retreating on anti-trust policy, weakening of financial regulations etc.

And today some act surprised that society has gotten to the point that it is.

Workers are getting fed up, and companies don't know what to do. Bost Market employees decided at one California location to take Thanksgiving off.
