Governess are basically calling locdowns for thanksgiving. No link. I was half listening to press conferences on cbsn.
Illinois stuck out. Basic message is stay home, don't spread it. I can't argue with that

It looks like Trump will be calling for all families to have Thanksgiving parties, let's face it, he's not now bothered what happens to the American public, he's out of it now, and he knows it. He has tried to get his picks onto various committees, but the senate has rejected them. This seems mainly due to a couple of Republican senators 'missing' the vote.

That’s all very well for wealthy families, others have to settle for remote learning.

That's what I meant earlier - if they're ahead in the vaccine queue they need to be!

Some sobering statistics on the number of covid deaths compared with other causes, in this article the stats are for the US.

In less than 10 months, Covid-19 has killed more people than strokes, suicides and car crashes typically do in a full year -- combined.

Our niece works as an RN in a rehab centre in Florida. She has just come out of quarantine from the virus. Her son and daughter, both college students, had it. The son works part-time in the rehab centre. About 10 of the nurses/staff (or more) have recently had the virus. My DH's sister is a patient in the rehab. She has lung cancer, and became unable to walk because of brain swelling and steroid use. Last night,we heard she has covid. She is 74. They live in a small town, not near a big city. It's everywhere.

Feluda test (quick accurate paper test for Covid) is in use from today in Delhi and then elsewhere (Just reported on NDTV). I wonder if enough can be manufactured for export?

Do.you have any of the statistics on the accuracy of this test?.
A similar one was rejected by the UK government some months ago, hopefully it's improved

Worrying if the trend in the article above is mirrored throughout India...

1) It is viewed as more accurate than tests previously used.

https://www.timesnownews.com/india/a...changer/683764

https://english.no2politics.com/2020...-he-portrayed/

2) Just one State is mentioned here and Kerala had very early cases due to tourists arriving and not obeying lockdown.

The high recovery rate figure may be due to inaccurate statistics but my personal impression is that the middle classes and wealthy using private hospitals are being admitted far earlier than they would be in UK so hospital recovery rates show better figures.
The use of Remdesivir drug is routinely used and a Japanese trial has show if it is used very early can have an effect----and in India certainly used very early by those who pay for it!
The above is balanced by the high level of diabetes in India so It could be other factors lead to high recovery rate--- not possible to know at present,
So much is yet to be learned about Covid.

Alberta, the Texas or maybe Florida of Canada, some of the highest infection rates and least restrictions.

What do you think about this BC Ferries mask sign?

The sign even made late night TV joke level in the US apparently.

I don't know what's going on in Manitoba a province in Canada, but it can't be good. Approx one million three hundred thousand live in Manitoba.
