Pretty much the same here, there is really no food programs at any level of government in Canada, so poor rely on food banks, some of which only provide food once or twice per month and typically 1-3 days worth, hardly sufficient, many poor need to go to homeless shelters for food, not sure how shelters and the like are doing social distancing, many homeless are addicts and mentally ill so not exactly of mind to follow directions.

I believe our food bank still has food, but they were asking for cash donations and volunteers as demand has increased.

The food bank has reduced hours and locations and closing more often, so yeah those who cannot afford food will struggle more than usual. We are still trying to decide pay rent, don't pay rent, or pay some rent, if we pay our rent in full we will have nothing money wise from today until end of April, landlord wont work with us, so that doesn't help.

Might be time to visit a bridge.

My job entailed logistics when we entered a huge testing period. "It's not rocket science!" they said, ignoring my suggestions.

I reminded them after they missed the first three deadlines.... suddenly everyone was listening.

Good luck.

There are never enough numbers.

Look at the disparity between Switzerland and the UK.... similar number of confirmed cases, far higher mortality in the UK.
It would be easy to jump to conclusions, but so many factors may apply, not just the availability of Toblerone.

Western Australia is being locked down by region from Tuesday, becoming the first Australian state or territory to do so. $50,000 fines will be in place for any "non-essential worker" who breaks this.

There are 24 new cases in Western Australia, the second straight day of decline. Of the 24, 11 are from cruise ships currently anchored off Fremantle.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison announces that the Government will quarantine arrivals into the country for 14 days, instead of relying on self-isolation. The Australian Defence Forces are also going to be used to ensure those in self-isolation are complying.

Her normal practice of wheeling down the shop every day for bits and pieces has of course ended, but luckily today she got accepted by Woolies for home delivery of necessary items. Was a huge relief. Take care.

CBC for whatever reason can never do an article with details, but touches on a couple things, one I have seen in many articles where someone describes their experience is, they feel better for a time, then it comes back hard, also sounds like this virus causes some unpleasant pain.

Donald? Is that you?

His instinctive response was to question other countries’ statistics. “It’s a tribute to the amount of testing that we’re doing,” Trump told reporters. “We’re doing tremendous testing, and I’m sure you’re not able to tell what China is testing or not testing. I think that’s a little hard.”
US surpasses China for highest number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the world

Thank you. I think I did better today. I sourced some catering options for the 150 or so multi-agency workforce I'm with which was a bonus. I do like the team I'm working with, and the military guys are a great bunch.
