Try it this way - IF there is a god, the biblical definition is that He is a spirit form, and that that spirit form encompasses all that is good. If we can accept that the biblical version encompasses the wiseness of a thousand years of knowledge, and as close to correct in its God claim. If we can acknowledge that there is a spirit world - unknown to us, maybe, but out there, then goodness in us, identifies with that concept.
Try something a bit more um.......original....it's all a bit..."human".

Personification is a lame attempt,besides....it's complete BULLSHIT & a waste of time.

Oddly enough the 1st century Ephesian Christians believed that precisely because they had "been saved" that they could do whatever they liked because they'd already been rubber stamped for heaven. So they wandered Ephesus shagging this, taking that, fighting them and whatnot all in the name of Jesus.

That's not what being a Christian means at all.

It seems to me that Christ's teachings were the total opposite of the overblown structure of churches.

The Catholic church certainly has a lot of explaining to do.

There is something to be said about more use of mistletoe, blue woad and a bit of dancing on a Saturday night.............. Stiffening your hair with lime paste, ummmmmmmm, not so much.

The norms also include the attempted ordination of women as a "grave crime" subject to the same set of procedures and punishments meted out for sex abuse
