This, from your favourite tabloid you don't read:

Empire strikes back! Britain will get NO special favours from Commonwealth post Brexit

Or, if you prefer, from your favourite "fake news" source:

Empire strikes back: why former colonies don't need Britain after Brexit
I never suggested they would - the UK doesn't need "saving" in the first place.

Hmmm... I didn't see "withering away helplessly" on the ballot. Somebody's gonna have to do it. And Britain is already actively looking for a Knight in shining armour...

FTAs don't normally come with the complete range of freedoms that apply to EU member states, either, which is what makes membership worth so much more than any ordinary trade deal.

What would be problematic for the EU member states is for a non member to have unfettered participation in the single market with none of the concommittal obligations, for what I would have thought are very obvious reasons. If it's not obvious, they can be summed up as level playing field.

So however much this ginormous FTA almost equivalent to the UK's current activity but shorn of any immigration, oversight or requirement to observe any rules is floated as a possibility, it's pretty clear, as far as I'm concerned, that it won't be happening without some concessions from the UK.

It works both ways - the EU also gets FTA access to the UK market on the same basis - their second largest marketplace for EU goods and services. What concessions should we require from the EU for this?

It depends on how much the UK wants or needs those goods and services. It could try shutting itself off from the EU if it wants, I suppose, now it's a soverign nation state again, or however it is the Brexiters have it.

Yeah, I know. Been saying that for hundreds of years. Still, it's not 1700 anymore. Perhaps something may have changed since then?

That comment just about sums up the lot of you. Britain is shit and everyone else is great. You can all deny it (and I expect you to but you won’t convince me because I know you) but your anti-British stance shows through on every post. I could easily tear you lot apart and every day post links to show the huge youth unemployment in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and now France, generations of lost youth, and after ten years what is your solution? You haven’t got one. That is how great everyone else is.

I love your "interpretations", manch. Sheds a whole new light on things. Conclusions that virtually nobody else would have come to. Keep up the good work.
