Default Brexit Party, how long will it last ?

It seems the Brexit Party is topping the polls for the EU elections.

Even Ann Widdecombe (dancing queen) has joined now.
AFAIK Farage just wants Brexit and after that retire on his MEP pension.
Will they disrupt the workings of the EU ?
Will they last after Brexit or will they disappear ?
Are they a threat to Cons and Labour, now AND after Brexit ?

It's a meaningless vote, tiny turnout of mainly brexiters, not even worth the time of any more discussion.

I don't know about the party but we can assume that the myths that underpin it, like the Unicorn & Loch Ness monster, will perpetuate, ad nauseam.

In a sense yes, but all that really underpins it is Farage's narcissism combined with a desire to carry on making money.

Note both publicly pro-Remain parties Greens and Lib-Dems gaining votes.

But the Brexit Party, though they're doing well, are little different to UKIP. Like Leave campaigners, they're promising something that they're in no position to deliver. UK MEPs have no say in the EU's side of the Brexit process, nor on the UK's. If elected, will Brexit Party MEPs turn up more often than UKIP ones did?

AFAIK Farage just wants Brexit and after that retire on his MEP pension.
And to keep his name in the media. He's still trying to get 'the man who made Brexit happen' on his CV.

Well, there's quite a good chance that Brexit will never happen, so I'd expect the "Brexit party" to last for eternity.

Farage: Brexit party will use EU poll to oust 'remain parliament'

Not sure how he plans to do that before the next UK General Election....

“Can you imagine in an African country if an election was overturned? There would be uproar and they would be calling for the UN to be sent in … and yet it’s happening in our own country,” said Farage, who was introduced as “the godfather, the ‘guvnor’ of Brexit”.
The EU Referendum wasnt an election though. Had it been run under the same rules, it would have been found to be illegal and made to be re-run due to the Leave campaign's illegal spending.

Rebecca Evans, a Californian bearing a blue and white Brexit placard, said she had come from the US to dedicate her life to the cause of leaving the EU and was hoping to be taken on as a worker for the party. “I’ve given up my entire life to come here because I don’t think there is anything more important right now for western democracy,” she said.
Oh dear.....

Oh dear.....
Funny people, these Americans.

Yes, I was just reading this article.
He is talking about the next GE though, so I wonder wether he (still) hopes to get a seat in the commons.

Here you are, one of the biggest leave towns in the country and yet you are represented by a remainer. Doesn’t that sum up everything that is wrong in the country today?” said Farage at the rally, indicating that Clacton would be a key target seat in any future general election.

I also wonder wether he has gained popularity thanks to all the infighting going on in Westminster.
People in the UK seem pretty fed up with politics and this might work to his advantage.
What you said earlier, about them showing up more in Brussels than UKIP did ...
I think if he wants to stay popular with his fellow Brexiteers, he will have to make a lot of noice there.

On the moral high ground, and with awesome candidates like Claire Fox who has fire in her belly and believes passionately in the Brexit cause, my prediction is the party will go very far, and wont stop at just the EU elections!

C'mon, the world doesn't need more nutjobs. Besides, this populism thing is going out of fashion. What's next is anybody's guess though. Good job you're not part of this world. Could be quite shocking for you.

You're deluding yourself if you think "populism" is going out of fashion.

More and more people are waking up to the deception that has been performed on them. The latest is Ukraine. Watch out for Italy which will ramp up it's "populism" further in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, France is stewing in it's yellow vested juices. As for Britain, the Brexit Party is only the beginning of the pushback.

Virtually all of the populist parties have abandoned the "leave the EU" mantra. They're still rather fringe though.

But you're right, Putin is still investing in plenty of fake news to support them. But if they're no longer interested in the collapse of the EU or the broader goal of destruction of western democracy, then eventually he could see them as enemies, and lose interest. We shall see.

Are you sure that's not Arlene Foster doing a bit of moonlighting?
