I don't do anything with it apart from refer back to it from time to time.

What is particularly interesting is the variations in various measurements shown on a graph - it's amazing how temperatures can suddenly increase in the middle of the night also the wind strength and direction.

I spent 5 years living on a sailing boat in the Med and weather was the most important thing you needed to know - the habit hasn't gone away. It was essential - now it's just for interest.

If you go on the Weather Undergound site there is the option to look at local weather stations. They don't give forecasts but they give current data and access to their database of previous readings. They all use similar systems.

I have never got round to putting my station on there - perhaps a project for the future!

There are some really good weather stations on the market now for very reasonable prices.

I use Weather Underground or wunderground

http://classic.wunderground.com/cgi-...chType=WEATHER

Plus also for a local forcast AEMET

http://www.aemet.es/es/eltiempo/pred...cipios?l=11210

I also look at the radar picture on AEMET to check for rain.

http://www.aemet.es/es/eltiempo/observacion/radar

Plus the Portugese radar which generally shows rain out to the West heading my way

That's the one I always use!
Apart from our temperature being two or three degrees higher than it states I find it quite accurate.

Probably the most useful weather info available (in the winter!). The regional radars update every 20 minutes.

On open ground such as grassland, garden or campo with no concrete, stonework or reflective surfaces such as white walls anywhere close ?

Just checked and it is not operational at the moment.

However the whole of Malaga province is covered by Sevilla and Almeria on the National view.
