Working in Spain as a nurse
 

Are ther any nurses out there who know how a UK trained nurse can 'convalidate' their registration to work in Spain?
I looked at a website and they stipulated that this 'convalidation' must be done. How and where.....does anyone know? Or know where I can start enquiring.
I will appreciate any help I can get.

For all permanent public sector jobs in Spain, you will need to take the oposiciones - public exams which are held every year and for which places are limited. However, you can get short-term contract work, as long as you do the following:

Get a copy of your registration certificate


Get an official translation of the above


Contact the Ministerio de Educacion y Ciencias http://www.mec.es/mecd/titulos/index.html

for an official certificate.


Register at the bolsa de trabajo at your local hospital

Unless you speak Spanish you may want to try some of the private hospitals who deal alot with tourists and expats. They may be able to help you also and many speak English. I don't know where you are planning to work, but this link is for Andulucia
