Ideally we would like a quiet, well furnished apartment/villa/house minimum 3 bedrooms. From what we can see on the net Alcaidesa seems pretty good aswell as La Linea. I do have a UK driving license so if we are required to drive for commuting then there is the option of us getting a car.
Could anyone reccomend anywhere else that is a reasonable distance to Gib? What is La Linea and Alcaidesa like to live? Also is public transport any good?
This is going to be a very fast process because we need to be in Gib in a month! any help would be great.
Rent somewhere in la Linea to find your feet as there is a lot for you to do...new job, country etc........then give yourself time to explore up the coast and down to Tarifa...there are so many places so take your time but get the job sorted first without having to worry about a car and driving..all the best

Agreed, take your time looking around. One point though, Spanish agents tend to charge a finders fee (1/2 month's rent), whereas Gib agents don't. Often the same property will be marketed by several agents with difference prices.

I agree with Fred, the outskirt of La Linea is nicer and in main you can easily walk to the frontier or take the bus.

Having seen quite a few properties in our time here, you can find some true gems, and some truly awful ones. If relocating, worth speaking to the HR department, as often they have company flats you can stay in for at least a couple of months, giving you time to look around (presuming you have secured jobs in gaming). If not, there are companies specialising in short term lets so you can at least find your feet.

One note on cars though, they are a lot more expensive than the UK. And also, the Q's in to Gib can be pretty bad.

Best of luck with your move
