working in benidorm or murcia areas??

Hi , very new to all this but have to ask as am fed up with england and seriously thinking about moving to spain and wondered if anybody had any advice on wether its easier to find work in benidorm area or further south around murcia? i am a wall and floor tiler by trade although i mainly do walls now coz the old knees are starting to play up a bit,do you think i would find something in this area if not i would be quite happy working in a bar? i dont want to ask loads of questions but just dont know what to do,and you hear so many mixed reports?

Thanks

Theres plenty of bar work in Benidorm, but the pay is lousy. With regard to the tiling, you may be mostly looking at the expat community, prob self employed:)

However I suspect you may be one of many Tilers etc looking to make a living in Spains expat communities, are there any rareish specialisations that you may be able to offer?:)

What sort of level of Spanish have you got?

no real speciality really do all sorts of tiling alot of natural stone, marble and stuff like that but just general stuff realy? I assumed bar work pay would be poor i used to work in tenerife 10 years ago now but didnt realy matter then about pay! Also thought there would be loads of people doing tiling already as everything seems to be tiled there but still thort there might be room for one more hard worker? Thanx anyway its good to hear from people that are there doing it already, thing is i earn good money here but the lifestyles rubbish, and without all the gorey details just split with the missus and sold houes etc.etc. so now might be the time to go and just find out.My dad is keen to move to albir near benidorm as well to play bowls and retire in the sun so he's making me think why not? I do worry that ill spend all my money on rent and stuff whilst looking though, and many people on here say its usualy a year before you realy know whats its like??
oh yes my spanish is not very good but did learn a bit all them years ago and think i could pick up enough to get by for a while but am keen to learn, but believe its better to do that once there?

A hard worker will go far anywhere, mate:)
Prob best way to go would be to got "in country",work in bar for basics then try to build up some sort of business, will be in La Nucia myself by e/o yr (pref sooner) working as a Locksmith,so would be happy to give out your business card to any likely prospects:)
As far as language goes, would try to pick up some beforehand, and then build on that once you get here,as it will be your best tool for getting ahead, always makes me sad to see people give up and go back to Britain purely through lack of language skills (more recently the Spanish have become less tolerant of people who cant/wont speak the language as well).

In summary, mate I'd say go for it!,you only live once!:)If your in the Benidorm area, will be happy to help with translations, networking etc:)

Thanx again for your advice icortez, thats what everyone says beck here too,i done it ten years ago and then went oz for a year to so its not that i havent done it before just that this time i dont think i want to come back?Like you say work in a bar first as is also a good way to get to know people and to be honest its not all about the money, dont need much to sit on a beach anyway, here i spend my money just to do things, took my niece to the cinema the other night cost me nearly 50quid!!!Does anybody think albir would be ok as a base as it seems to be a bit pricey??

Dont really know Albir,so couldnt really say, most ateas around Benidorm seem a little bit pricey compared to south of Alicante, however they are a bit better:)
How about Finestrat as a base, plenty of places around there, lots of shopping facilities, and easy access to Benidorm for work:)
