Wood Stove
 

Just bought a new wood stove from a place in Mura De Alcoy, and was talking to my mate about the absence of a baffle plate or deflector. Anyway got home and there is a drawing in the instruction of how the beast fits together - anyway the plate is on the drawing but missing in the fire.

I have had the fire 3 days - not fitted, still brand new - do I take it back to the shop for an exchange or refund in the event they don't have the plate? I think asking for my money back or exchange is fair at the 3 day point when such an important part of the fire is missing....

Take it back! Tell them you need the plate. They will likely just take the plate from another unit and hand it to you with their apologies.

But you aren't going to get it without asking for it.

I hope it's not the same shop (in MurO de Alcoy) where a friend of mine bought his. His was a large corner burner and also had the plate missing. He tried it without (at the insistence of the shop), and the fire bricks at the back cracked. He asked for the plate plus new bricks and got no where!

So I went down today, with a freshly shaved head and a bomber jacket on looking like a 1970s skinhead, explained the plate was missing, the result - he is ordering me a new one and I can expect it within about 10 days. I won't fit the fire until received to keep it in new condition and after day 10 I will be paying a visit again to find out if the situation is resolved. Mo suggestion of trying the fire without, It was Chimineas Meditteranean, maybe where you mate went was Costa Chimneas...

Fingers crossed or the doctor martins are coming out ;)

Javi from the store has sent me 2 emails confirming that he has been on the phone to the supplier and they will be delivering the missing piece from Monday - If this happens - I will give the company a massive pat on the backand recommend him to all Expats !!!!

Well I'm happy to say I have had a satisfactory result the missing part has turned up within 4 day, this included postage time... Well Done Javi

I would highly recommend Chimineas Meditteranean in Muro De Alcoy.....

So nice to have a bit of customer service in Spain..... Excellent:thumbsup:

Great news - now you can light the fire and get warm (just when it's starting to warm up again :p)
