Winter Temperatures in Costa Blanca
Hi. Can anyone tell me what the winter temperatures are like in the Torrevieja and the Benidorm area. Also if you can what it's like crossing the Pyrenees in November.

Re: Winter Temperatures in Costa Blanca
In the evening after the sun goes down the temperature drops like a stone to around 7°c for overnight. That will generally be repeated throughout December, January, February and March. Then it will begin to slowly warm up.
Still loads better than the UK weather!!!

Too true. It was only 2.5 degrees at midday here in the west of Scotland and will no doubt get much colder when the winter really starts to bite.

Beware, although much warmer than UK it can feel very cold particularly after the sun goes down in the evening.
Many Spanish homes are poorly insulated and difficult to heat.

We lived just outside Torrevieja, and one morning there was a very slight covering of ice on the puddle near the rubbish bins. Only time we ever saw it.

Very difficult to get cosy in winter evenings in spain. Loads of rugs are needed on the cold floors and preferably a wood burning stove. When we wake up in the mornings the bedroom and lounge are at 12C. Impossible to get (an admittedy large) room to a comfortable 20C without a wood burner plus electric rads.

This is why i like it here, its always the same temperature during the day, The annual day.night range is only 74 - 84 but overnight if theres a breeze it can feel cold [really...] its because we are used to the norm.

Many thanks to all that have answered. I suppose you get used to the warmer weather during the day and then feel it all the more when it gets chilly at night. Still even at those temps it is still warmer than our day time temps.

Likewise. A few Kms inland from Torrevieja - ice on the roof terrace after heavy rain earlier in January. I think that was possibly 2004.

It snowed quite heavily in the northern Costa Blanca last year although that's a rare event.

Here in Wales (at 05:40 having woken up with the urge for tea and toast) my little weather station gizmo tells me its -2c outdoors and 18c indoors with no heating on...I love insulation and double glazing
