Do the Spanish clean windows??

There seems to be a distinct lack of window cleaners in my part of Spain so I was wondering if the Spanish ever clean their windows.

My friend has a Spanish girl who does her cleaning and she takes out the windows to get them clean on both sides and then washes the frames with a kitchen towel - is this normal????

Very normal!

I clean my own windows as well and have to take them off the tracks in order to clean the outside (due to bars on the exterior), but I use a dust cloth for the frames, so maybe I'm only semi-normal ;)

That's how you clean windows in Spain.. In the UK you don't have the option of taking them out, if you did you wouldn't need window cleaners..

This sounds normal for me or should I say OH who also give the glass a rub over with the sporting news after. In the summer when the kids are here we give them the hose and a brush and let them clean the windows for us usually ends up with the rooms soaked as well  but they have fun:D

:

Most houses on our road get the windows cleaned on a daily basis by the lady of the house, together with the bars and the steps, pavement and their section of road scrubbed.
There is actually a noticable line outside our house on the pavement where our neighbour cleans up to:o

I have never seen a "window cleaner" in Spain

Our windows get cleaned perhaps once a month, or when they look dirty

My mrs got one of those works well actually, the only problem is with double glazed units !! as the system works by magnets with sponges and rubber window wiper type of edgeing, wrapped round . As you move the inside or outside pad the other one follows hence cleaning both sides at once ..

Useful for doing the exterior of upstairs that you couldnt reach otherwise , and it works ..100% UNTIL !! You have a double glazing window with a wide space then the magnet isnt strong enough and drops of on the floor ...

Rating of the product = 8/10
