I've been studying the market for the last few years in the Axarquia area and that certainly hasn't been moving that much. Prices are either stagnant or even some have dropped and that is a good area.

Well based on some recent sales of VERY similar properties, it appears I am up 25% in two years. But, like Moses says, I'm only temporarily up - until the next crash happens. And the next one is going to be much much bigger than the last, just wait and see.

Why so? What and why do you think this will happen? And do you think it will be soon? Just interested. I don't live in Spain so not sure re the economy. Do you also think UK wil go the same way?

I could explain but we probably all have different opinions, so i am not sure there is much point. But I will if you really want me to.

Hate to say it, but I told you all so. "Spanish property price decreases a thing of the past"

Maybe but I think we are a long way off prices shooting up. I think it has just about bottomed out with some increases in some areas, there are still lots of bargains to be had even considering the fall in the pound.

Jogger, I disagree. I think that prices will rise steeply and soon be level with 2007 and then surpass…

Obviously there will be pockets where prices will rise, however these will be location based to areas where the supply/demand is more balanced.

I think the massive over supply is inland golf courses they will only shift once the boom gets a grip on the coast which is imminent.

According to other threads people say that if the pound drops further they are forced to sell up and return to the UK. I personally doubt life will be much cheaper back in the UK either after leaving the EU. Regardless of that, who is actually going to buy in typical British areas if the pound drops further and prices are supposed to increase in Spain?

[QUOTE=Moses2013;12075622]Interesting but if you look at it this way:

That is the question I am sure for villas in the campo at the right price there will always be a market from other EU people. I don't think there will be such a market for village houses? Also yes low pound means possibility of lower euro price but the Spanish tax man will want the tax based on the Euro valuation of the property so if you sell too low in Euros that could be a nasty surprise. Of course uk government and most of uk population do not actually care about the hardship the expats suffer, yes they will when they come back but until then it is out of sight out of mind I'm afraid. Other than the green eyed monster syndrome people who will laugh at the plight of expats. On many forums etc pre referendum I saw much of the green eyed monster people who basicly took the view that expats who bought property abroad were disloyal to the uk and deserved what they get? Bit rich considering I did 40 years service to the Queen and UK of course come holiday time of the year the view of some of these people change given the chance of free accommodation in the sun😃

Spanish property and boom are things not normally seen in the same sentence for many years. It sounds very much like estate agent speak, trying to convince a naive purchaser in a very flat property market.
