Having read carefully all of the informative posts I understand that should the first event be my demise HID would lose the state retirement pension that she earned in her own right (66% of full pension) and take over my 100% pension of £107+ but I wonder what happens to all the bits and bobs that I earned over a full 50 years paying into the system. These were State Second Pension and all its predecessors (SERPS etc) and raise my State Pension to £137+ per week. Any ideas anyone?

I think the only people who can answer that with any reality are the DWP people - and then they will only be able to answer as to how it stands at this time. Legislation changes, admittedly with some notice, but then we can't plan our going to coincide with that legislation.
