One I roast - very nice and meaty and one I slow cooked with root vegetables (where are the parsnips in Spain?). Both extremely tasty and a lovely change from the ubiquitous pork.
I thought most NZ lamb was now Halal and exported to Muslim countries. I recollect an article that caused uproar as no one was told it was Halal.

Yes it was in the Daily Mail. Most UK supermarket meat is now killed the Halal manner which is why whenever possible I buy all my meat from the local farm shop. Prefer to pay double than know some bearded muslim has said a prayer over my sirloin

Well it must be right then.

Actually no, its a load of old cobblers.
There may possibly be a little, but I can assure you that the vast majority is killed according to EU regulations.

I don't think that's correct. It doesn't bother me but I do believe it should be clearly labelled to give consumers the choice.

Try Makro Malaga, we always buy our Leg or shoulder of lamb from them, Spanish origin is pricey but NZ origine runs around Euro 8:00 , they also sell Argenitian Fillet around Euro 23:00 a kilo, both excellent taste and value IMHO, but you need to have a trade card to shop.

I've been told by French people that they're shocked to find we eat parsnips. To them it's only fit for horses. Of course, we then have to ask who eats horses...

I always cook with EVOO, pouring some into a sandwich bag and filling the bag with the veggies to be roasted, it gets them nicely coated.

for parsnips, add a little honey to the olive oil in the bag and then add the parsnips for a good coating.
yum yum

Apparently Leicester do.
They've just given him the boot and put him out to grass.

he's just a GDY
paid too much and over here

no time for someone who can take £1m a year to lose so many games played with so little intent of winning
he is part of what is wrong with English Football.

Its probably his fault that Lamb is so expensive in Spain, where I don't think they breed much of the stuff so have to import it.
from France ??

I have only had lamb once in Spain. Manolo the shepherd slaughtered one in honour of his friend who was leaving the village. It was covered in rosemary (upon which it had also grazed) and barbecued on an open log fire and it was absolutely the best lamb I have ever had.

Coming from me, who usually finds the food in rural Andalucia very fatty and sameish, that is indeed high praise!

I wouldn't buy it because it is too expensive.
