isn't there a right to know, or do we have to wait until they parties concerned have made arrangements with their families ?

Why do we?

I don't get this, the same people baying for information on this are some of the same people who are the first to moan about celebrity obsession and how the country is going to the dogs!

Who cares? People ****, people **** other people all the time....

The impression originally created suggested that it might have a major effect on the Govt of the country, so in that respect it's only natural for a lot of people to take an interest.

As it appeared to turn out, it's probably only a storm in a teacup with possibly only minor repercussions in No 10.

In any event I suppose folk could be forgiven for thinking that you may actually care judging by your appearances on the thread.;)

So posting on a thread is now an indicator that its important to you?

This sort of tittle tattle bullshit is exactly what is wrong with people now, they feel they have the RIGHT to know, that it's more important they know than if there are jobs, the economy is healthy or the NHS is going to survive.... it's not, it's bullshit, just as I didn't give two shits about Plunketts extra marital crap or that Portillo was gay, I don't care about this either and neither should you.

Have any of you wondered why these stories are coming out right now? I have heard that the papers have been given blank cheques to go and find dirt on Cameron and his cabinet, they want revenge for Levison.

nowt to do with either Cameron or the cabinet, just seems to be two individuals who were in some way involved with No. 10, but who were also very involved with the phone hacking problems getting down and dirty with each other. As both those suspected were involved with the press, then the papers are attacking their own.

It's not often that I agree with you, but on this occasion I'm in complete agreement.
I couldn't care less who amongst the politician's is jumping into bed with whom...it really is nothing to do with any of us!
I'm more concerned about whether they are doing their job to the best of their ability or not as the case may be.

It depends, why should politicians get privileged treatment:blink: They are fond of using the press when they are telling us how good they are, what a family man they are yadda, yadda. I doubt anyone can have an extra-marital affair and it not affect their job. Remember these people are supposed to work for us and represent us. I don't care if the press are trying to get back for Leveson, I still find it intriguing and I make no apologies:p

But the moment they get elected they immediately forget that they are there to represent the views of the people! They straight away embark on self serving and their ego knows no bounds, in many ways they are no better than the mayors of our little towns here.

You need look no further than those Peers caught out on Panorama.:sneaky:
After all that's gone before and the shifty sods are still at it.
It's a fair bet that they're only the tip of the iceberg.

Re: Who are they

More and more people are getting to know the names, and it really is an awful mess. It's a resignation matter, but how on earth can they handle it?

The names won't be published for quite a while, any such publication would mean immediate imprisonment for the people concerned with the publication.

What I am loving is the fact that so many of you have bitched and moaned about the Daily Mail and MoS for years on this forum and yet it's them who "broke" this story.... So suddenly they are the paragon of truth and impartiality? Right.... Oh and if it is Coulson and Brooks... get a grip, they are history!

True the closeness of the Gov and Murdoch enterprises has already been exposed...bit of a let down if it's only those two:sneaky:

Pity it's not Sam Cam and Boris eh? Then the Camerons kids can go through their parents messy divorce and we can all watch as their lives spiral out of control while we all wring our hands together and say how the press just has too much control and power in Britain today....
