Default Where in the Torrevieja area does most uk pople live?

Hi
I am planning to move to Torrevieja area, in a few years. Wants to live in a mixed area, with both Spanish-speaking and British speakers. Anyone know if there are any areas that stands out with much British residents?

In advance, thank you

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Look at most of the areas just south of torrevieja, plenty of expats, plenty of good shopping areas, nice beaches.

I don't want to be pedantic but Los Balcones and Playa Flamenca are not in Torrevieja. There are over 200 urbanisations in the Torrevieja and Orihuela area.

Perhaps a local forum would be more helpful, one of them needs a flak jacket.

Good luck.

The OP did say Torrevieja AREA, and to most people, certainly in the UK, this would mean up to around 10 miles from the town itself, which is why the reoply from me was as it was.

Not many Brits live in Torrevieja town, most live in the surrounding urbanisations.

There are many to choose from. OP might like to state his interests and what attracts him to the area?

Actual area boundaries are most important in Spain because municipalities compete with each other for political and other reasons, mostly financial. Torrevieja is a rich council while its equal sized neighbour, Orihuela, is poor and verging on bankruptcy. The other councils ringing this small area, Los Montesinos, Rojales, San Fulgencio and Guardamar all have their own town halls and make their own decisions.

When an expat registers, there is a vast difference between the services he is entitled too depending on his local town hall.

Indeed, every week in the news is problems with Orihuela Costa and issues with the main Gov't in Madrid, its a ok area but a few miles back is better
