Nearly Oliva, midway between Benidorm and Valencia. Lots of Orange groves, pleasant countryside, beautiful beaches, nice people. Only drawback is its only nearly Oliva, its not really Oliva for me until September.

Real de Montroy, 30 mins drive inland from Valencia airport.
Don't tell too many Brits about it. Nice ratio at the moment approx 10,000-1
Spanish to Brits.

alhaurin el grande, costa del sol inland, 8000 registered extranjeros and 25,000 spanairds... thats a ration of what, 3 > 1 ?? :( (its more likely to be 2 > 1 as that registered foreigners, not "actual".

We spent a weekend there one February, staying up in the hills nearby. The priest giving my wife catechism lessons is from there and he took us to visit his family while we were there. Huge bottles of honey and plenty of hierbas to drink. :)

We're living just outside Madrid.

Just curious to know. All you people living inland, what do you all do for a living, or are you all retired? Just curious to know as we are considering living inland, but are wondering how people earn money inland.

I asked the same question in a previous thread and the answers so far were retirees mostly those that took a buyout and moved down and are living on savings until the pension kicks in, one was self employed so can live anywhere. No one with kids has answered so I've started asking in other threads where kids are mentioned.

For the Wife and I she is here on a long term project (I'm house husband so I just join her at each project location). At some point, unless she is offered a permanent position here, we will have to return to Germany at some point. She could push and ask for a position but that will mean accepting a Spanish contract with Spanish wages (30% lower) at this point she's not prepared to do that. She'd rather work a few more years in Germany and save the difference and then retire here, she's 43 so she doesn't have that many years of work left (few Germans work beyond 55)

I must say I understand why people come here, weather Frankfurt 9 and rainy, here, 23 and sunny.

We are lucky my husband has a job at a Flight training school in Jerez, and although I have three children so am quite busy, I have been told it will be very difficult for me to find work here.

Hi
like the photos of Borairent "coralsoft" though up the mountain here it is very different to the town, much greener, (at the moment) :)

Well me and hubby are both retired, (we are in our early 40s) he sold his business, a pet shop and I packed up work, I did false nails,
though hubby is now dabbling in buying and selling property, and my dream is to set up an Appaloosa horse stud farm, ive got 2 foals due this year.

Before we came here we were on the coast in a place called Busot, we stayed there for a year.

photos attached of here in Feb (snow) and our field last summer (sunflowers)
