Where to live

Hi All
I am an English lady thinking of relocating to Spain.

I am just starting my research. I don't want to live anywhere either wet, very hot or humid!

I like to go walking and prefer national parks to the sea.

Any ideas of a good location to start looking?

Thanks

That's a bit difficult on mainland Spain. The Canaries would be a better choice.
If it must be the mainland I would have thought NE Spain towards the French border would be best.
No doubt others shall concur or suggest alternatives.

Concur.

The mediterranean climate in the south can be hot and humid, and to the west nearer the Atlantic it can be wet. Great choice for walking in the NE too.

I Have found it quite hot here Near Alicante , but not generally humid .

Maybe you need to be in the North of Spain to avoid extra hot Summers ?

As johnnyone mentioned, you'd then be best off anywhere above Barcelona up to France. We have a holiday home there and many
Northern Europeans (including us:-) appreciate the climate. It doesn't get too hot along the coast in summer and winters still have a good amount of sunshine. You will get a bit more rain in winter than further south, but it's greener and around 2,500 hours sunshine per year is certainly not bad. If you like walking, you have everything Spain has to offer.

All

Thanks for these replies, really helpful.

I will fly into Barcelona and travel north and have a look.

If I wanted to rent a small part furnished apartment, what sort of price am I looking at?

Thanks
Jane
