Can anyone help please?? We are heading to Egypt in March and need some vaccinations, I have asked in the Farmacia and they said we need to go to the Sanidad in Alicante?? anyone got any ideas where this is or phone numbers etc??

Also, has anyone been to Sharm-el-Sheikh - any advice on the area??

Apparently not! But I have now managed to track down the Sanidad in Alicante and they have told me that we don´t need any vaccinations to travel to Egypt!

Any advice on the area though, still appreciated!

Vaccinations may not be required to travel but they are often recommended.

Personally, if I was going to Egypt I would stock up with Immodium Plus!

Went there a few years ago in January. Fine during the day - very cold and windy during the evening and night. Didn't have any jabs before I went but make sure you take tablets with you for the runs. We were only there for a week and suffered terribly - had to go to the doctor for tablets. Knocked us out totally for at least 48 hours.

My friend (Spanish resident, access to health care) was traveling to India and his local health centre were not very helpful with giving injections. The local pharmacy gave him this contact

Dra. Paula Márquez Padorno
Jefa de Servicio de Sanidad Exterior
CVI Cartagena
C/Pez Volador, 2
30202 Cartagena Tel. 968981000

which helped him to get what he needed.
