Where are the Disco/nightclubs
Hi, we are based in Alhaurin de la Torre and have our 18 nearly 19 yr old son over for a week and would like to know where all the disco/ drinking are for him to go.
As i have mentioned before we have a car and are able to travel out a bit.
Been out and about in the day time sight seeing but i think he has had enough of coffee bars and would like some thing a bit more his age.
Have took him to Marbella to see all of that area, and Torremolinos with all the shops, he likes to see places but has been doing a lot of walking about and think he would like to meet people his own age and see a bit of night life as well.
Many thanks for all help

Hi, you do not say if he is on his own or has a friend with him, but there is 24 hour square in Benalmadena, although I would not recommend he goes on his own, there are also a few places along the front in Fuengirola.
There is also some places Calahonda way, may be safer to go to, maybe someone from that area can give you some names.
Just tell him to be careful when in these places in the early hours of the morning.

Guess it depends what kind of thing he wants, football shirt wearing kids drinking 15 pints of Fosters and looking for a fight or something a bit more typically Spanish
Aside from the expensive horrors of Banus, the alleged dangerous reputation of the 24hr Square in Benalmadena and the chavridden bars of Calahonda.. you could come into central Marbella where there are tons of Spanish bars full of youngsters, pick any of the ones tucked away in the back streets of the Old Town or toward the market/post office and you can drink and dance away till 4/5am. Would help if they spoke some Spanish if they wanted to mix I guess though and bear in mind that most of these places don't really get going until midnight.

Torremolinos has nightclubs etc, In fact I believe theres a one in AdlT somewhere, not sure where tho, but my friends daughter has been banned from it LOL!!! Is he gonna be ok just walking in on his own tho ??
There is a "British Bar" called "el Tacos" on the poligono on the edge of town (the poligono that they've dug up!) that has snooker tables and karaoake, music, dancing etc. There are a fair few teenagers that go there and adults too - might be something you could all go to and maybe lose him in there (in the nicest way) ??????

Hi. There is an underground night club just opposite our apartment in Torremolinos. Don't know if you know Torremolinos, but opposite mcdonalds in the centre of the town there is a road called 'las mantielles', its up there on your left about 300 yards up. No idea what its like as i've never been there though.

Yes he is on his own and i have put this to him that it probably would not be too safe for him to go out and about in the early hours on his own especially as he has not been able to pick up any words except hello and good bye in Spanish.

No he does not wear football t-shirts and never has and is casual smart dress code. As for the hours of staying up, that would suit him down to the ground ,as he mostly comes in at four or five in the morning when back at home.
At least every one on here is giving us an idea of the areas which are no go areas.
Where abouts is this dangerous 24hr square in Benalmadena that you mention? As tomorrow was when we were going to visit, had no idea that it was not safe there.

Think going by things this would probably be our best option as he is limited on his Spanish and all on his own.

Don't forget that the term "Night club" can have a very different meaning in Spain
Although a 19yr old lad could probably have a good time
