When will it stop?
 

Yet again a situation in Spain that has brought sadness and despair to peoples lives as their homes are demolished. http://www.theolivepress.es/spain-ne...rom-demolition

People have lost their homes, savings and a life they loved whilst those responsible are busy setting up new companies and marketing how great they are at business development.

Another example of the increasing disparity between;

"government", which allowed this illegal construction and subsequent leases to be conducted by a dodgy developer, despite it's inherent obligation to operate in the best interests of the...

..."People", who are increasingly the ones who get shafted as a result of the incompetency of paternal, all-powerful "government", who openly engages in this kind of dodgy activity, yet assumes no responsibility for anything, and refuses any protection or relief to those victimised.

This smacks loudly of the landowner having very special influence within the local government. It even sounds pre-meditated.

It is somewhat reminiscent of our very first attempt at a purchase here. After all the time and money invested in due diligence, solicitors, negotiations, etc, when it came to the very last minute, in the meeting to sign the deal, the owner randomly announced that he wanted double the price we had negotiated. I presume he figured we wouldn't back away. But we did.

If they are timber homes I wonder if they can be dismantled and re-erected elsewhere. Building land is virtually being given away at the moment so it might be possible to relocate the homes. I would not be surprised if this is what the landlord´s demolition team have in mind, especially if there are no witnesses.
