When is buying online dearer? When its Carrefour
Having a Carrefour storecard I (far too) regularly receive their special offer emails including their online sales operation. When I spotted an item cheaper instore than I had paid online (same product, same week) I decided to complain as they had invited Customer satisfaction feedback.
To their credit they did actually reply:
'First of all, we would like to thank you for taking the initiative to write to us through our website www.carrefour.es.
In relation to your e-mail, we inform you that although both stores belong to the same business group, they are two independent sales formats, so the assortment, offers and price that appear on the Carrefour Online website, they may be different from those marked in Carrefour hypermarkets.
Hoping to have resolved your doubts, we take this opportunity to greet you.'
No my doubts are not resolved I still feel to send a special offer dearer than instore is sharp practice and not good marketing policy.
Anyway now I know to check both options before buying.

I shop there quite often but I am aware I could be paying a little more at times than in other places, but not always. I've also noticed they do something that many others do, which I'm not sure is deliberate or just a genuine mistake, but I do notice from time to time, that something twice the size, like 200g of coffee, is more than twice the price of two 100g jars, not less. I use that as an example but can't say whether that did happen with coffee or not, there have been other things though.
