When is the best time of year to lay new turf?
Hello,
I've been doing a little google research but it seemed more sensible to ask people that live out here!
We need to re-turf our garden....
Quite simply..does anyone know the best time of year to do this?

Don't live in Spain but... Spring would seem to be the best answer most anywhere.

Autumn is usually the best time, the grass will grow and become established before the heat of a summer, if planted in the Spanish spring, especially where you are living, then it will not have got a good enough root system to allow it to survive a summer, and remember to get a grass seed suitable for the area, a fine seed will not do unless you have an automatic watering system like the golf courses use. Spanish lawns are normally a coarser, tougher grass.

Now if you are quick, as there will be a couple more months of rainfall down in the south before the summer droughts kick in. New turf needs LOTS of water!

In England spring or autumn are the best times. But where you are in Malaga, I'd endorse what Mikelincs says.
