What've I missed??
I'm back, thought I'd catch up on my favorite forum!
Is Big Pete in pokey for Council Tax evasion?
Are rugbymatt & derbyflan an "item" yet or are they still in the chest puffing phase?
Is there anything else worthy of note?

We are still in the chest puffy stage, but I have a feeling.............I have a feeling.............
BP is on his way to Bird soon enough, and that's about it.
Been bloody quiet lately, entertain us NOW!

Re: What've I missed??
Well, when my wife told me we were off to Crete this year I was quite happy, we were last there around 20 years ago, and have been to half a dozen or so other islands as well before the lad was born.
I knew we weren't going to a pension above a taverna as we did in our youth, and that our hotel would be modern and comfortable which it was - the Creta Marine, about 25 mins east of Rethymno near a small one time fishing village called Panormo, it was very nice, all inclusive - the food, drink, entertainment everthing was superb - but I did miss being able to meander the narrow streets of Skiathos town or stroll the beaches of Georgiopouli or Skala.
We had a car for most of the time we were there, but as the lad made friends he didn't want to leave the hotel - so neither did the wife. I was limited to a daily drive into either Panormo or Bali (a few miles further east) for a coffe and a read of the paper and couple of longer drives out to visit a couple of places we'd been to before -
MY GOD!! What were quaint nearly villages 20 odd years ago are now a personal nightmare, neon, theme bars, "tourist supermarkets" etc (though Georgopouli does still retain the "village" feel - but is far more developed than the dirt road to a beach that I remember) so in a way I was glad to be in the sterile environment of a resort hotel.
It was a bit too hot for me so the Air Con in the room and the car took a hammering - All in all, typical family holiday fayre - can't wait till he thinks we're no longer cool enough to holiday with - but don't tell the missus that.
