I remember when I was about five me and a friend painted the front door, garage doors and the outside walls red. We then went on to paint each other from top to toe. My mother and father nearly killed me!:D

My brother did a similar trick with mums make-up just before we were all going out. Paint though is a different kettle of fish - guess you quickly learn which products on the market work best. Moving house quickly is a good alternative to cleaning it up, but the kids are covered too so difficult - maybe a quickie adoption or sell them on e-bay as unique.

Anyway although a traumatic experience all children should do SOMETHING that their parents can laugh about later and hold it over their heads for ever.

I would change the carpet, some terpentine would make light work of the telly and by that time the paint on the kids would be dry. Wipe the kids down with some sandpaper until they were paint free

Brilliant....both the kids and the dog

I wish I'd taken a picture when I went downstairs one morning on hearing giggling from my two girls, they were aged 2 and 3 at the time, I found them in the kitchen riding round and round the kitchen table on their tricycles giggling away. The eldest shouted "listen to the noise" They had poured a full bag of sugar and the entire contents of a packet of cornflakes over the floor

What did I do? I couldn't help myself - I just stood there and laughed
