I normally live quite a solitary life and pass my time crafting, always listen to music, been spending more time on FB keeping touch with family and friends in the UK.

Our comune is classified as a red zone. We go (or one of us does) once a week for supplies so I can't speak for the reality of the rest of Abruzzo. Everyone is being calm, shops are well stocked and hardly a soul on the streets except for workers and shoppers. Traffic on the streets is minimal and air traffic practically non-existent.
Stay safe.

hola Val, are you able to get to the shops?

Thanks John, I did. Taxis are allowed justifiable journeys of which I am one apparently :-) so I had a driver, company and got all I needed.
A wee day out lol I hope you are all ok. Take care.

I'm fortunate that I have a large enough garage which I use as a workshop for making stuff out of wood. After two bedside tables, a coffee table, a blanket box and a thing like an apothecary cabinet with loads of draws, I've about run out of wood. I've just got off cuts left and I keep looking at them trying to decide if I can make anything else with the bits.

They need stain, preservative or paint on them.
My life isn't worth deciding the colours on my own.
I hope this uploading thing works. Might turn out a bit big.
I'll try and see about one of the blanket box/chest thing.

Re: What do you do?

Thanks to both of you.
I was a mechanic so tend to know a bit about tools but woodworking isn't something I was trained in. It's just trial and error. Over a few years I've made things for the house like built in wardrobes, book cases and such like, but it's all a bit rustic and doesn't fit exactly. No matter for us, just sand it well, paint it up or some nice stain and use it.
Put some shelves up, she said, that's how it started........... maybe if I hadn't have made a good job of them she wouldn't have suggested anything else.......
I think the idea is to get me out from under her feet and do something useful.

Play with the kids, study with the kids, play outside in the garden (finca).

Work.

Play Ham Radio.

Take out rubbish.

Walk around the house within the finca boundaries.

I've tried to make a couple. Bit like a snooker queue. Couldn't get it to look or feel right.
