Default What to do to become a lawyer in Spain if i already a UK Law LLB Hons degree?

i am 1 year into a 3 year Law LLB Hons undergraduate degree in UK

in uk after finishing the 3 years Law LLB, one then has to spend one extra year in the university to specialise to become a solicitor or barrister, then 2 years internship in a law firm

my question to you is the following:

after i have my Law LLB Hons undergraduate degree from my UK university, what would i need to take to become a qualified lawyer in SPAIN?

I would be able to start straight away the internship in spain since i would already have a UK law degree or would i need to go to spanish university , and if so for how many years?

If i indeed had to go to a spanish university before doing the internship, would i be able to skip a number of years of the law degree as i already have a uk law degree?

Apart form english, I speak fluent Spanish and Greek and plan to learn italian.

many thanks for spending the time to read my message and i look forward to your answers

Are you still at the "trying to decide which country" stage, because I notice this post on the Italian forum, and I suppose that the answers that you got there would be pretty similar to what you will get here on the Spanish forum.

There should be plenty of wok for lawyers, given the number of fraudsters and conmen.

Cheers

I am pretty sure the UK law degree wouldnt count for much in Spain. Obviously the laws are pretty different!

However, you may get a year or two off your Spanish law degree. The best thing for you to do is to contact some Spanish universities they will be able to tell you for sure.

All Spanish undergraduate degrees are at least 5 years long with some courses being even longer.

Why would you want a Spanish salary at the end of your studying? Get a UK one and fly to your villa at weekends

You would be best off trying to do some sort of joint degree that covers European law in general or Spanish law specifically. Many univerisities have partner institutions that allow you to spend a year in another country. If your university does not have that option, think about transferring to one that does.

So is this a double posting?
You need a Europass CV:
http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/eu....csp?loc=en_GB
and a Europass Diploma Supplement;
http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/eu...Supplement.csp
But even then you will need some good networking as that si how a lot of jobs like this are filled.
Good luck with your dreams, as that can come true.

Well it's not a bad wage to live off in Spain now is it?

Anyone who comes to Spain for the money has to be stupid.

And btw it's not so far off the mark, I know a couple of barristers in London earning £50k

I think you make it up as you go along.

Sure its good to live on but not very ambitious for a young person, when I was younger I went for the money ,allowing me to semi retire at 40 , as for your friends in London I genuinely dont know how they survive in that world on a gross of 50k which incidently is a very poor salary for a barrister ,I`ve used barristers in business defending copyright in the UK and their bill worked out at around 700,00 pounds an hour whilst in court.

I'm not making it up as I go along, you just fail to understand some basic concepts.

1. The majority of people in London earn less than £50k/year and seem to get by OK
2. £50k/year is about an average salary for a lawyer in the UK. Obviously this depends on the years of experience and what they specialise in. Yes some lawyers get paid hundreds of thousands, but many don't.
3. What does being ambitious have to do with money? My friends and I have effectively taken wage cuts to live and work in Spain, but I'd say this is because we are ambitious. Our ambition is to have a better work/life balance and live in a country we love. Anyway the flat I live in now would cost me £3k/month in London so you could say I'm being clever.

Anyone on 60k euros month could have an exceptional quality of life in Spain and an good quality of life in London. Of course, depends what people want to prioritise.

I've already got a flat, in LONDON. I'm not stupid enough to buy in Spain with the amount of sales tax and low rental yields. And yes the job is going absolutey fine. Although I wont be sending you any bank statements.

Its all about status for some people eh? You lose an argument so you want to try and compare the size of your k**b
