What is considered income tax?
Hi everyone,
I need to work out how much tax I paid in the last tax year but am unsure about what is considered 'income tax' in Spain as the payslip is so different to the British kind. Is it just the bit that says 'impuestos sobre la renta'?

Don't forget any other sort of tax that needs declaring or was paid (investment income etc.).

I don't have any other sort of tax, just straightforward employment income. I don't seem to have paid much tax at all...perhaps I was under the threshold?

Do you have savings accounts in the UK?If so, you will have to declare the interest out here, including ISAs. Do you expect any savings plans in the UK to mature, inheritances, winnings etc? anything regarded as tax free in UK won't be out here!

Re: What is considered income tax?
I'm tax resident in the UK. I don't live in Spain anymore - ended up coming back much sooner than expected due to my OH getting a good job in England. It's the other way around - I need to declare my Spanish income and tax paid on it here in the UK. I'll get foreign tax relief on any tax paid in Spain (which unfortunately doesn't seem to be much).
