What area would you not live in in oliva
Hello. We are looking to purchase a property here by the end of this week and like Oliva town. But we've heard conflicting stories about where or where not to live.
Would you live by the castle - left /. West side. Or would you live near calle san pere/ plaza ganguis. . Or neither. And why? Thank you for your help.

You have to be careful with location in Oliva old town. In my opinion generally the lower down the better.
We holidayed in Oliva many times before we bought renting houses in various parts of the old town. Apart from the possible problems with neighbours ( the Gitanos can be noisy), parts of the old town are quite steep and as you get older you may live to regret the climb up. Parking may also be a problem.
We ended up buying low down in the old town and rarely venture up in to higher parts, preferring the "new" town and beach to eat and drink as there is limited choice in the old town.
We have a house between Plaza Alonso and the Santa Maria church and love that area of the old town.
And of course the beach is fabulous.

Thank you so much for your honest opinion. The west side is very steep and high up. So maybe not the best choice. The other we've not seen as yet Weve been told is not far from cafe bar Molina which we had coffee at. Doesn't seem quite so steep. From what I can remember. So if the rain eases off tomorrow I think we had better walk around that area after viewing - agree the beaches here are beautiful. Thanks
again.
again.

Hello,
If you haven't already done so, you should join the Facebook group "The New Oliva Tattler." Much better than this forum for local information etc.

there's some astonishlingly cheap property on solvia.es website. I'd have a look on there before parting with your hard earned cash to an agent.
