Default What about my car now I am in Spain

dear members. I need some advice. I have brought My UK reg car to Spain. Now I need to know:
1.when do I have to register it with Spanish plates?
2.the car has mot but do I put it in for the equivalent Spanish test immediately or when my mot runs out?
3. Does anyone know of reliable and inexpensive car insurers?
4. Is there a road car tax and if so how do I go about that - and when?

Hoping you can assist
Regards
Biddulph

I suggest you read this section of the "Useful information" thread here

Spain - Lifestyle : British Expat Wiki

It tells you what you need to do and also covers things like driving licences.

This website also gives a lot of info about registration.

replatematecostablanca.com

After you have read them, come back with any detailed questions.

In relation to your question about road tax - you do need road tax in Spain and it costs about 100 euros per year. I'm pretty sure that you can do this at the local town hall or by setting up a direct debit with your bank.

Don't bother with a direct debit though if you don't intend your keep your car for a while, since it can be quite a hassle cancelling it all.

Road tax varies by area as it is the local council who charge it. It also varies on the fiscal horsepower of the car. Mine is 45 euro a year
