At last...............not an Etta James impression
I know that you are in the restaurant business, I seem to recall that you put a sample menu on here and I thought it was good.
You have it the nail on the head.
Would it be as simple as adding to the menu or would it have to be a huge overhaul, RM who started the thread is being very coy.............surley he is the one to answer as he has all the answers.

But it was the kind of decision (not always about food) that I had to make continually. Do I get in a fruit machine or not? It would attract some gambling addicts but might put off some of my more genteel regulars. Do I get a young barmaid with big boobies in on a Friday night with loud music?Again you would win some and lose some.
Do I go Halal? Not too much of a problem.
Do I have to stop serving pork? Big problem!
Do I have to stop serving alcohol? Huge problem!
Therefore a lot of market research would have to be done to establish the necessary steps and their impact.

Aside from the pork issue,
Would a halal restuarant run by a non muslim have the credibility to attract muslims.
In my book it would be like going to a Lebanese resturant for a fabada Asturiana...................
It just would not happen like that in the real world.

Do you know what is really funny old chap? I have 40 odd friends from here, this forum on Facebook. They all get to see my friends, posts from family, pictures, all sorts of personal information that others on here simply don't have access to and when you say things like that all that happens is they see your attempt at calling me a liar and think less of you. If thats what you want then good on ya, you keep at it, its not making me look like a bitter twat at all.
.
.
but then they can come on here and look in and see the truth as to what you have not said, how you have twisted and ducked and dived and not given an answer, but made false accusations against people.
and if you really get desperate you can call them in to swamp BE Spain yet again with personal attacks that take it all away from the original question and blame it on others.
very sad really....................

It could prove interesting for someone who is a Jew to put his money where his mouth is and open a halal restaurant and try to entice the Muslims with Billions to spend all their money with him.

If you had a menu which included a fair selection of vegetarian items (which must be cheaper to make than ones including meat or fish anyway?) then Jewish, Muslim and vegetarian customers could all eat there, and only the most ultra-religious Muslims would not enter premises where alcohol is served although the vast majority would not drink it themselves.
I used to organise large conferences as part of my job, and we asked people booking places to specify any special dietary needs in advance. Those who requested halal food normally worded their request in such a way as to say either halal or vegetarian food would be acceptable, and if the hotel or conference centre could not assure me that they had a genuine halal supplier it was safer to ensure that the menu for meals (normally buffet style) was more or less half and half vegetarian and meat/fish to ensure plenty of choice for everyone. The biggest hurdle was getting over to the conference venue the fact that it wasn't acceptable to mix vegetarian items and ones containing meat or fish on the same serving platter - e.g. they thought it was OK to mix up all the cheese or egg mayonnaise sandwiches with the chicken and beef ones. Noooooo!!! They also had a hard time understanding that vegetarians (real ones) don't eat prawns or tuna - much like restaurants in Spain in that respect.

so you cut and paste the juicy bits from BE Spain to let all your acolytes know how big a boy you are, how erudite you are, how you are the king of the castle.

I was very clear with what I said, many on this forum are also friends on FB, many from this section of the forum. Are you accusing them of swamping BE with personal attacks? If so, you will be a little surprised who is friends with me on FB AND here.....
Now, shall be discuss the subject or do you have yet more personal attacks against me? Are you, like HGB going to start quoting Nazi ideology against Jews? Or maybe you will ask 6 times per page the same question yet when someone else posts an almost identical resulting post you put up some childish "good post" picture?
Do me a favour, put me on ignore, I am actually enjoying this discussion but you and the other Troll are ruining it and shall be reported justly.

What will, and should, happen is of course that Muslim business people will themselves set up exactly the right kind of restaurants (they have already) that will cater perfectly for the Muslim clientèle, and non-Muslims will be perfectly happy to go there as well. No need for us non-Muslims to worry about any of it.

Yeah, thats sort of what I was saying. I was in a restaurant, he was in a restaurant, the menu had pork on it, he still ate.... sort of answered the question I guessed....

Would enough muslims be able to overcome the fact than a non muslim owner prepares halal food in a kitchen where pork is prepared too, to make that type of restaurant a viable proposition?
And as this thread is about business and cashing in on muslim customers, why cant my question be answered in an adult business manner?
I have various business interests and I thought you would encourage people to think outside the box.........

Because I distinctly got the impression that the post was meant for us.
