You seem to forget one thing, both of you.
Just because a Spanish/British/Norwegian restaurant owner buys halal meat and other products, it does not make them able to cook the recipies using those products. Not good enough for most nationals of the muslim countries to eat there. If I wanted fish, chips and mushy peas, I would not go to an Italian place, would you? And if I wanted a nice Indian curry, I would not go to Pacos on the corner, would you? Horses for courses, I have yet to see an English guy, who has cornered the Hungarian market in Spain (just an example). ... as to the other points, if I knew any Arabs, which I obviously don't, I'd say to you that some would quite like the odd roast dinner, others quite like the odd fish and chips and lets not forget that McDonalds operate in many muslim countries... Curry in a bun, memsahib? |

Coffee and tea yes - but soft drinks no - not in Spain anyway.

Curry in a bun, memsahib? Would muslims eat in a place that serves and prepares PIG products in the same kitchen as their halal meals? I thought it was a simple question, and depending on the answer then one could have more of an opinion as to wether the business plan of going halal would be of any advantage for the business concerned. Stop skiriting around the question, i am only asking from a business point of view. |

Are you sure about that? Ok so my experience tends to be mainly in the cities, but I was often surprised that a coke would set me back 2 or 2.50 euros when a beer cost less.

The point I was getting across is, although the Italian might give you fish and chips, to get the real stuff made in the range, it would usually have to be in an English place that specialises horses for courses |

Curry in a bun, memsahib? As for Muslims eating in a place that served pig products and alcohol - this is actually not a problem for many - but they tend to be from the Turkish/Kurdish community. I suspect Muslims from other areas, be it Arab countries or Pakistan etc., would be less tolerant. |

I have answered your question, you just keep asking it, only changing the question each time..... IF I knew any Arabs, I would tell you that I have sat next to them while they order food and they have happily eaten it. On more than one occasion I have sat with Arabs during Ramadan and out of respect we have waited for sundown before we have food and the restaurant has been happy to wait. Now, what else would you like to know?
where have you answered my question, show me? |

A coke around here sells for 1.20 and costs 50c to buy. The margin on beer is very variable but on wines and spirits is very high. Food is the best.
