The weather
I have noticed on a number of threads a lot of posters have mentioned that there have been an inordinate number of rainy days this winter and some exceptionally extreme conditions.....Up north....We have had one of the mildest winter seasons for many a year and apart from a chilly four weeks we have had sunshine and great temps since last October.... I think we have had 12 days of rain since September....The difference in day and night time temps have been vast but overall the heating and log fire were only in use for 10 weeks...Big difference eh?

I've watched endless of footage of heavy rain, flooding and the highest snowfall on record from "up north".
Only a couple of weeks back the called out the Military to rescue ppl and their vehicles buried in huge snow drifts.
The weather does seem to have been very dodgy elsewhere in the South and West also.
Here near Valencia it's been very pleasant, I spent many an hour walking the prom and beaches in lovely sunshine in Dec and Jan. apart from many excellent days out here in the Campo.

I think we have had 12 days of rain since the beginning of March! Still at least the reservoirs are full and even if it doesn't rain at all for two years we have enough water.
Semana Santa next week and it always rains for that, so no end in sight ...

Re: The weather
As I said in another thread, after last autumn's heavy rains we had lovely weather from the start of December until mid February, but since then most days have been either cloudy with chilly winds, or wet. Yesterday was an exception, a lovely sunny day, but back to rain today. I am hoping (probably in vain!) that it will be out of the way for Semana Santa as the town is already gearing up for it, with all the marquees where the tronos are assembled and decorated now having been erected.

Re: The weather
February and so far, March was our worst month. Rainy and cold, but mostly bad on the February side.
It was beautiful all last autumn and into January. October was dreamy - perfect mid-upper 20's and sunny - November a shower or two, but warm. December - dreamy dry and comfortable. Christmas was lovely warm. January was outstanding - average low 20's and sunny, but cool evenings. Feb turned to crap. We're only now just crawling out of winter.

Re: The weather
Weather memory is always dodgy but by my reckoning this winter has been about average - albeit dry until the end of Jan and wet since then.
Last winter was exceptionally dry and the two winters before that extremely wet.

Re: The weather
we are at about 800m asl, the mountain we sit at the foot of is 1609m asl.
clouds come at us from the Poniente de Granada rise hoping to get over the mountain and when whey get near us find they have to dump their load before managing to rise over the top.
believe they are complaining of a drought on the other side.

Re: The weather
The village near us has recorded over 1000 litres per sq m in the last twelve months to end of Feb. Normal rainfall is about 500 to 600. That is about what the Midlands in Britain gets each year.
I am getting a bit fed up of it raining now even though it is good for farmers..........
