Weather???
If I could pick your collective brains please??
We are considering a trip to Spain, Costas Luz or Calida (Murcia) in mid Feb. What should we be expecting weatherwise at that time of year? Checked climate reports which suggest something like early Summer in the UK, this seems a little optimistic to me. So what do you think? will it be naked torso and a thong (:scared: ) or jeans, t-shirt, jumper and fleece and a brolly just in case? Is there a better chance of nicer weather at one area over the other? Thanks LB |

Temps 20-22 but strong sun from about 10 until 2 makes it feel warmer. But it can change rapidly last year we landed at Faro last week in Jan and it "snowed" as we drove east to Spain. First time on the Algarve for 25yrs, by the end of that week we were walking on the beach at Canela with T shirt shorts and feet in the surf. Regards, John. |
Re: Weather???
As John says it can change rapidly.
On the CDS Feb is the worst month, its usually warmish for you but cold for us. You will see all the locals wrapped up and all the lilywhites in their vests and shorts. ;) It can rain and usually does in Feb, but then 10 mins later suns out again. I would bring a sweater with you, and just go in a bar during the rain. :D |
Re: Weather???
Statistically, it's one thong and 4 wooly jumpers - and a plastic mac.

Re: Weather???
Well here in Chiclana for the last few days it has been an average 26o in the sun. I have had my siesta on the sunbed in a t shirt. Glorious. Walked on the beach today and the sky was so blue it hurt my eyes. People were paddling and the water seemed warm. However it can change like that, so you will need t shirts and jumpers.

Re: Weather???
Thanks for that, I'll report back to the "management" and see what she feels we want to do.
Thanks again. LB |
Re: Weather???
Glad you put this thread on Leighbloke :) We are flying out on the 18th Jan for a couple of weeks to Benidorm and I have been wondering what to pack  My sister was in Benidorm over Christmas and was on the beach in a bikini on Christmas day!

Re: Weather???
It's a pleasure Lionda.
Just been talking to a friend about this as they have a place somewhere around Almeria. She put me onto this site if any one is interested, seems very good. You can get info on the weather for the dates you're looking at from earlier years for any where in the world. 'tinternet eh? what did we do without it?? http://www.wunderground.com/wximage/viewimages.html |

Temps officially been around 18 and 19 here the last few days, nice and sunny, lovely blue skies, but NOT warm enough for us to be without jumpers, although there are people swimming in the sea every day, I suspect most of those walking around in t shirts shorts, skimpy tops, thongs etc are TOURISTS, can't see it warm enough for the locals.
Showoff ;) |
