Villablanca Village Fête with Car Boot Sale
To start the week-long Fiesta of Villablanca, on Saturday 18th August there will be a mini Fête with a seafood stand, reflexology specialist, an English books stall, two bouncy castles, a Gladiators style game, 6 a side Cricket tournament with sides from Seville, Portugal and (fingers crossed) Costa del Sol, BBQ, Bar (of course!) and a car boot sale. The last one is important as many have been asking where they can do this in this area, particularly people who've recently made the move and have loads of stuff to get rid of.
Anybody interested in setting up a stall please PM me or email [email protected].
This is a council backed event and will score some brownie points for the expat community in the area. Hope there will be a good turnout from the board regulars in this area.

Hola! Fortaleza,
Good luck with the event!
I read that somewhere up Aracena way, they are planning to screen the film "El corazon de la tierra" (based on the book by Juan Cobos Wilkins?) during their fiestas.
How about that for an idea re: scoring brownie points?

Fort,
It is good to know that there is another cricket mad person in the area (although England losing the toss this morning has not been good so far!)
We still have not started our esuri journey (still waiting to complete grr), so cannot join you in the fun and games.

In theory nothing but I'll have to talk to the others. A nominal fee might be charged but I'd prefer not to. However it's not just down to me, I'm afraid. Contact me by email or PM and I'll give you more info.

Not really, JDR. The idea of the day is that we try and raise some cash for our fledgling team so we can buy equipment. So we need as many people there as possible. One way to get more people through the doors is a Car Boot Sale and with luck that will keep people there. We have several costs involved which we need to recoup. We are asking the teams to pay a small fee and we're getting sponsors. In theory, we should ask the car booters to pay something small too but equally they are helping us attract and keep people there longer - more bar sales. My feeling is that they should trade for free as they are helping us. But I may be vetoed. I need to check.
