Upper age limit on UK car hire?
A friend of the family resident in Spain believes he won't be able to hire a car in the UK when he returns for a holiday because he is over 70.
A quick look at the websites of Hertz & Avis only indicates a lower age limit of 25.
Is he mistaken or is there some small print somewhere I can't find? I believe he holds a spanish driving licence, having lived here for some years but surely that should not make a difference?

Have a look at this link, over 70 will depend on the hire company.

Thanks both, for that information.
It looks like Avis & Hertz don't discriminate then which is why I couldn't see it on their websites. With Budget Ok as well it should be possible for someone in their 70's to hire a car without too much trouble.
Good news for the family friend and those who won't have to drive him about now!
