up so early
I've had comments about me being up & awake so early a few times
I have to get up now cos dd1 starts school at 8am in the Instituto this is her first trimestre there, and although I don't actually have to do anything, I feel I should be up to make sure she gets up and out OK (she's 12) anyone else got/had this situation? do/did you do the same? and at what point did you decide to let them get on with it by themselves? |
Re: up so early
I leave my 18 year old to his own devices - even if I know he is going to miss his train, because he has a problem getting out of bed and I am doing him no favours by constantly knocking on his door to wake him up.
My 12 year old is not a morning person either but will respond to a loud blast of "The Final Countdown" by Europe. If I play it loud enough he gets up. Strange how a 12 year old should like and respond to such a cheesy old track.:D I don't really think you can leave a 12 year old to fend totally for themselves. They need moral support if nothing else. When do you back off - not a good idea while they are still in compulsory education in my opinion. |

Re: up so early
A nice lazy stretch at 8am doze for a while then jump out of bed to the sounds of the bin lorry and the street sweepers chatting and on with the day. Glad I don't have to get anyone up for school or work. It's nice to be able to decide when to get get up
