Unlimited Data 4g sim card ?
Hello,
Does anyone here know of an unlimited sim card using the 4g-lte network ? There is no fiber optic cable and probably unlikely to be , as the Albaicin area of Granada seems to be protected by local government. The sad upload speed is very bad and can not stream on 1MB . Tried Vodafone but have a 50gb cap. Vodafone has an excellent signal compared to Movistar. Help please and Thanks. |
Re: Unlimited Data 4g sim card ?
Do you receive a 4G signal there?

Re: Unlimited Data 4g sim card ?
Hello missile,
Yes, 4g signal received from Vodafone and Movistar . Movistar has a poor 4g signal and is more in a strong 3g . Vodafone on the other hand is excellent, speeds of up to 68 Mbps. |

The mean speed is between 40 and 50 Mbps.
Upload speeds 15 to 20 Mbps. There is a company called Spunky.com which has ( unlimited ) data but to my regret uses Movistar instead of Vodafone. TelefonÃa móvil con datos ilimitados (◑‿◑) Econet.com is another company which does use Vodafone but is expensive at 50 euros/month. http://econetweb.es/ |

If it works well I'd say that was worth it.
Paying between 50 and 60 euros / month with Movistar adsl - which is too much and looking for some sort of balance. The upside of Econet is the ( no permanencia ) whilst Spunky has a 12 month contract ( without mobile phone , 24 months with ). Holding out just a bit longer for Vodafone to introduce unlimited. |
Re: Unlimited Data 4g sim card ?
Don't hold your breath. Vodaphone had originally offered unlimited, but like others, they no longer do so. The assumption is that 50gb/mth is adequate for most uses.
Since you seem to be in the Granada area, have a look at http://www.radiofibra.net/ It's a WiMax system. I get up to 45mb/s and it is unlimited. I also get a VOIP phone connection. |

Interesting, but at 53 euros the 30 Mbps package plus voip is still expensive.
Thanks for the information though. Why do you need that sort of speed? |
Re: Unlimited Data 4g sim card ?
Isn't it amazing that on a forum of this size no one appears to be using 4G unlimited for internet.
If anyone is I would be interested in their experiences particulary around the four work rush hours when I found 3G was diababolical. |
Re: Unlimited Data 4g sim card ?
Not really considering how expensive it is - if you can find anyone offering it and those that did offer it appear to be imposing caps now.
Also, why would you need 4G speeds for normal use? |

Re: Unlimited Data 4g sim card ?
If you only need 6mb for HD TV what would be the point of 4G? A decent WiFi provider should be able to give what you need and with no cap.
As for 4G unlimited offers, read the small print - they often include a "fair usage" clause - that's just legalese for a cap. |
