UK TV - Huge Satelite dish
#1

Morning all
I'm well out of the loop over there now but reading through UK TV posts seems everyone is watching channels via Kodi and other streaming apps.
So, on our roof we assumingly have a defunct 2m+ dish that I gather is worthless now?
Are these of any use at all?

We have a 1.5m dish on the roof of our house, and we can pick up most UK tv channels (free ones, we have no subscriptions), including all BBC, although torrential rain and/or thick cloud does affect the signal strength.

Love my large dish and freeview, internet never been good for streaming.
if hubby had all channels we might as well go back to the uk, would never see him outside

No problems whatsoever with streaming on the internet if you have a reliable 3MB+ link. Smart Tvs linked to the net are the now technology.
But I understand some parts of Spain good ADSL is not available.

Gandia area you can get UK TV via sat on a 110x120cm dish (apart from the odd few days of torrential rain we have), so your 2.,4 dish will still be fine.
Not "everyone" is using kodi and its addons, as not every one likes the buffering, delay, and low picture quality on offer or has decent enough internet. Some still like their tv direct from the broadcasters and still pay sky for their pay channels, and not a third party pirated stream...

Still use my 2.4 metre dish that i had installed some years back when many UK stations were lost due to satellite changes. Gives me perfect reception and viewing via my Humax PVR, HD on some channels and the ability to record channels.
