UK 's most wanted in Spain

Just wondering if anyone looks at this. I was reading about a very clever scammer today on BBC news who took £850,000 from a woman over a period of months. A team was involved and the police are scouring Spain for him.

Must be nice to have £850k "spare" to lend to a virtual stranger ?? It beats me just how gulable people can be. How did this guy know she had that kind of cash available when he targeted her? Unbelievable. Better than a fiction novel!!

Hola,

The thief didn't know when he first contacted her (and probably several others); he played them like the true professional thief he is (actually they work in "boiler room" teams.

By the time the very experienced members of the teams get involved, sometimes three months has elapsed. These lonely people (can be men as well as women) believe this person may be "the one";

If ever you had seen the messages that go back and forth, you'd know that you don't have to be gullible. An "Ex" of mine so nearly got taken - just for a few hundred pounds - because that's how it starts.

There's no need to go into details - just hope everyone is on their guard whenever they either go on a dating site, or decide to give a small sum to these "spoof charities"
