bet if someone "borrowed" a car and "shared" it with people no one knew then it would be deemed to be theft, so why not IP ?? where would everyone be if companies stopped paying to have these things made ?? karma given Fred. |

Tommy and Irene's guide to married bliss seems to have done a runner or are my eyes deceiving me ? |
Re: UK NOVA
I deleted it as the contents contravened Rule 7 - copyright material.

If they are paying Sky it isn't theft - just a breach of the contract conditions for their card. It's the ones who re-broadcast it or use card sharing systems who are breaking the law.

watever anyone says abt it not being different it is, big difference tween breach of contract and theft
My last two UK net providers were a disgrace and varied between one tenth of the estimated or promised speed to no speed at all, quite often grinding to a complete halt at peak periods. Then consider that Orange fiasco. Most ppl. take a great deal of trouble to shop around first and then sign up to the best fixed term contract they can get. Imagine their surprise when informed a few months ago that their subs were going up and the contract they'd signed up to wasn't really fixed at all and Orange were free to increase their subs as and when they wished, though no get out clause for the customer of course. Time to tighten the law methinks and insist on all print being the same size and any company get out clauses made very clear to begin with. Even under the present law I would have thought it should be classed as misleading advertising,at the very least. |

Ha Ha goodone Fred..they are still conning Sky by letting on they are still living in the UK...Because if it was legal i would be on it , but Sky says im outside the UK and i said Southern Ireland is outside UK and they told me they have an agreement with them..
Its pretty obvious that SKY are quite aware of what happens, but they arent going to do anything about it unless you actually tell them. They dont have teams of people tracing non UK subscribers, because they are happy with the situation ;):) |

I'm afraid you are confusing the issue. A SKY subscriber has a contract for which SKY supply the TV content and the subscriber pays for it. Thats what is happening. No one is stealing anything. SKY are not licenced to broadcast in Spain, although of course as we know, people can receive it in Spain. Therefore SKY cover it by registering to a UK address, and the subscriber is in breach of contract.

Sky is like the i player with things in the boxes to tell them if your outside the UK.
The only way they find out is if some idiot rings them up and tells them. |
